I recently replaced by original Sand Dollar filter with the same model one. The only difficulty I had was removing the old one, since, when originally installed, no easy-disconnect-unions were installed. I added 3 new unions in case I ever have to change it out again. The new control valve works extremely well--smoother than the original one ever did. Instead of regular sand that was used in the original filter, which, by the way, worked just fine for 7 years running 8 hours a day year-round, I've decided to try using Zeolite which is supposed to filter much better. So far, after one month running, everything is running and looking great. 6 STARS!!

Solid reliable sand pump. A bit finicky to use, setup and knockdown, if you have used a sand pump before you already know this. Valve head is more robust than it initially appears. My first one lasted nine years before I replaced it.
