2Not worth your money
By Chad
I have used this product for the past 3 1/2 years. I am not happy with it in the least. The first unit began leaking after 1.5 years. The manufacturer warrantied it and I installed its replacement. The replacement now has began leaking and has fried the electronic board after 2 years and 3 months. This is supposed to be a really good brand, and when it was working it was fine, but it simply is a poor design to have the electronics placed on the unit. Water finds a way to reek havoc, and it will do so on your unit if you buy this. Shame on Pentair for not standing by their product when the design is truly flawed and inferior.

4Surprised
By Len
I'm surprised on the negative reviews that I've seen on this product (IC20 & IC40) because I've had mine since April of 2008 and it's still running strong. I agree that it's a bit pricy, but when I calculated the cost of tablets, it's pretty much a wash as long as this device lasts 3 years or more. I'm hoping I can get the 4th year (2011) out of it before I have to replace it . What's surprising is it seems if someone will get a poor product, that person will be me, and I've had great luck with this and love it. Maybe my luck is changing. :) One thing I do know is that you have to keep it clean. One review said he called support and they told him to clean it. That tells me he never read the maintenance manual. I typically have to clean mine about every 4 to 5 months and I can tell that it's dirty because the salt indicator will show low salt when I do a manual test and it shows fine. The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is because I'm hoping these last at least 4 years due to the cost and I haven't gotten that far yet .
